Most Notice the Floors. Children Noticed the Team.
When people walk into a clean school, they usually notice the obvious things first.
The shiny floors.
The fresh smell.
The tidy classrooms.
What they don’t always see is the people behind it.
The early mornings.
The late finishes.
The consistency it takes to keep a busy school environment clean, safe, and ready for learning every single day.
Recently, something happened that reminded us just how much those efforts matter.
Area Manager Chelsey and her team received a collection of handwritten thank you letters from children at one of the schools we support.
Not from teachers.
Not from management.
From the children themselves.

It’s difficult to explain just how meaningful that kind of feedback is in our industry.
Cleaning is often one of those jobs people only really notice when something has gone wrong. When everything is running properly, it can become part of the background. Quietly expected, but rarely acknowledged.
These letters were different.
They were genuine, thoughtful, and full of appreciation for the people who help look after the environment the children spend so much of their time in.
It was a reminder that children notice more than we sometimes realise.
They notice the care.
They recognise the effort.
Most importantly, they remember the people who consistently show up for them.
At CleanKing, we’re incredibly proud of Chelsey and her team. Not just for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, but for creating environments that feel cared for, welcoming, and safe.
That side of cleaning matters more than people think.
Especially in schools.
A clean educational environment isn’t just about appearance. It plays an important role in wellbeing, hygiene, concentration, safety, and the overall experience students and staff have every day.
Why School Holidays Matter for Deep Cleaning
During term time, cleaning teams work around lessons, lunches, after-school clubs, staff meetings, and hundreds of people moving through the building constantly. There’s only so much that can realistically be done while a school remains fully operational.
School holidays create the opportunity to go deeper.
That’s why May half term is one of the most important times in the calendar for periodic cleaning works.
While Chelsey and her team continue managing the day-to-day cleaning operations, our specialist Industrial Team carries out larger deep cleaning and periodic projects during the holidays, including:
• Deep floor cleans and floor polishing
• Carpet and hard floor treatments
• High-level and hard-to-reach cleaning
• Specialist disinfectant and COVID-19 spray treatments
• Full-site resets ready for the new term
These larger cleans help schools maintain higher hygiene standards, improve presentation, prolong the life of flooring and surfaces, and create a fresher environment for everyone returning after the break.
If your school hasn’t yet scheduled its May half term deep clean, now is the ideal time to secure availability before the holiday period fills up.
